Hi all.  I wanted to let you know that my wife of 46 years, Gail, lost her 2-year battle with cancer early this morning, Sept. 23.

George N. Zimbis & I were remarried after 40 years on 1-10-14 in Honolulu. The details are on my Facebook page which is where we found each other.  He didn't know he'd been secretly placed there by his cleaning woman & friend, Tammy.

He came to Honolulu 12-18-13 & left 1-14-14. I arrived in Maine on 3-31-14 and we're living in Lewiston. He never knew me as Dorothy, only as Tommie. We're very happy.

Strangely I don't miss Hawaii weather. My email address & phone number haven't changed, just my name (Dorothy W. Zimbis).

Dear Suzy & Lincoln,

It's hard to believe that you have been married 50 years. You are my age, so I guess that you were married at a very young age. God bless you both for your life & mariatal longevity!

I have reconnected with my second husband, George Zimbis, who's in Lewiston, Maine right now while I'm in Honolulu, Hawaii. He will be coming to Hawaii on Dec. 18th and staying with me for a month. We met 40 years ago, and have not seen each other or have contacted each other for more than 33 years.

All the issues of our divorce have been resolved - I feel that we are truly going to spend the rest of our days together. We both have had many obstacles in our 33 years. I knew that he had had systemic lupus erythemtosis before we married. The lupus left him 25 years ago, but he's had 3-4 heart attacks and heart by-pass surgery, is a type 2 diabetic, etc. Despite all that, we are very much in love with each other. Life has come full circle for both of us. We'd have to survive 44 more years together to get to a 50th anniversary, though. Who would have thought that life could be so fulfilled with love, emotional and spiritual understanding beginning at 69?!

George and I wish you both the best of the best in all things.

To Lincoln and Suzy...Congratulations on 50 years! Big smiles and groovy threads LOL! So why do men go gray and women do not? I've been pondering this conundrum; it applies to me and my honey, Jerry, as well.

To Bill and wife (sorry, we had such a lovely conversation walking to the Friday night event, and my brain dropped your name)...I am moved by your China story. Society says seniority is all about pursuing pleasure, insisting we've earned it, damn it, but you exemplify how aging can mean ramping up engagement,too. Richard Berger seems to be right there with you. Hooray for our big-hearted classmates!

Wish I could have attended the Saturday functions last year. I missed reconnecting with more fondly remembered WPHSers. Have a wonderful Fall season. Keep on truckin', Tigers and Tigerettes.
