We came from near and far, seemingly with enjoyable memories, leaving not so pleasant thoughts and experiences behind. We came together and brought our own sunshine. Many smiling faces I knew or recalled while many others shared common experiences of being teenagers in White Plains circa late fifties to early sixties.
I am unashamedly proud to return to the soil on which I and many kin folk before me were planted, cultivated and bloomed.
Thanks to the entire Reunion Committee for making sacrifices to provide a golden weekend filled with plenty enjoyable memories and reflections. Saturday night was especially electrifying. The dance floor filled quickly and continuously with moves that were ‘out of this world’, literally. Lol.
I thank my husband for ‘hanging in there’ with me and genuinely enjoying another chapter from my life’s story. We have reunion pictures that will be sent to add to the memoires as soon as he recovers from a ‘bug’.
Thanks Class of 1962, especially those hailing from Rochambeau (“Ever onward, ever upward, on our way we go, as the thoughts of Rochambeau will grow….”) and Post Road. I am grateful for schools, family and community that taught me to choose what to focus on, expected the best and provided opportunities to ‘keep on keeping on’.
From left to right, Maria Clarizio Rizzi, me, Bea Wright Miller and Ida Wright.
