My whole point is this message is to urge my classmates to take care of your health.
Like most of us, I turned 75 this year. (My body may be 75 but my mind is still 25!) I had a couple of health scares in June which made me realize how fragile we are as we age. First was a pneumonia , which put me in the hospital for a week.
Next came the scary one. Once I got home from the hospital, I was weak and could barely get around. My daughter and grandson came up for a few days to help. Being a Type II diabetic (another wonderful condition), I needed to check my blood suger and do my insulin injections before dinner. While doing that, all of a sudden I was having extreme difficulties breathing (I have COPD, another wonderful condition). My daughter called 911 and I then spent 8 days in the hospital being treated for fluid in my lungs and atrial fibrillation. Home now recovering.
So - listen to your body! At the slightest sign that something is not right, get it checked out. A
Stay well, and hope to see everyone at the 60th if we have one.
